The family of four-time Prime Minister William Gladstone bought the present house in 1829, twenty years after its completion. Son William was a frequent visitor to his childhood idyll: a perfect respite in adult life, and a home away from the House. As apt, certainly, for cabinet meetings as family gatherings and formal functions, Fasque Castle now recaptures its historical heyday as a welcome place to come together. The house has a wide range of luxuriously appointed rooms including 19 sumptuous bedrooms all with en-suite and finished to the very highest of standards – traditional Luxury with a modern twist and all guests will be served a full Scottish breakfast each morning.

The dining room offer fabulous food served in a most delightful setting and can comfortably seat up to 50 for lunch or dinner, when locally-sourced delights are always on the menu.

The Drawing Room’s tall bay windows frame wonderful views of the gardens and rolling countryside beyond as a backdrop to top-level discussions, drinks, dancing or dinner for up to 120 guests.

The library bookcase-lined walls and rich velvet sofas set an elegant tone for a relaxed afternoon tea or an extra delegate meeting space.

Main Hall is more than just a place to meet and greet, the octagonal Main Hall is large enough to host both formal functions and relaxed receptions. Ideal location for group shots to make the most of the stunning backdrop of cantilever staircases and period details.

Billard room is a welcome hideaway for the weary conference delegate or wedding guest alike. The 150-year-old Fasque Episcopalian Church within the Estate grounds is also available by prior agreement. The church can seat up to 100 guests and is just a short walk from the house down the beech-lined Wedding Walk.


Fasque’s four hundred acres are the natural home to a host of Scottish wildlife. You may catch sight of the deer herd on the banks of a lochan. Keep an eye out as well for otters, eagles, red squirrels and woodpeckers as you stroll the paths around the Estate.
